Vada Pav or Pav Bhaji?
Vada Pav
Rickshaw or Kaali Peeli?
Rickshaws because they are quick and are like mini-helicopters that can get you anywhere. You don’t want to get stuck in Mumbai’s traffic!
Gateway of India or Marine Drive?
Marine Drive because you can sit and enjoy the sunset without being bothered by anyone.
Local train or BEST bus?
Trains! I used to live in Chembur when I first came to Mumbai and had no clue how far Goregaon and Andheri was. I used to change trains at Dadar and then get on the western line, it was always crowded. I had no idea you required a different pass for first and second class and got caught by the TC. That day I learnt something new!
Tapri ki chai or Sol Kadhi?
Tapri ki chai in the tiny cups. I love roadside chai, it’s amazing.
Watching a play at Prithvi theatre or watching a movie at Gaiety Galaxy?
Watching a play at Prithvi theatre! I haven’t visited for a while because of Covid but I love meeting so many people from the industry there.
Favourite place in Mumbai?
I like Colaba, the old cafes and their menus. It feels like you are in the heart of the city.
The Mumbai lingo you use the most?
I try speaking in Marathi which sounds funny because I’m from UP. I say ‘Kai zhala’ ‘Kai pahije’
What do you love most about the city?
Whatever I’ve achieved today is only because of Mumbai. It is ‘sapno ka shehar,’ it’s not a city, it’s an experience and a feeling.
