Vada Pav or Pav Bhaji?
Pav Bhaji because I like curries.
Rickshaw or Kaali Peeli?
Rickshaw because it’s most convenient and initially I didn’t own a vehicle so Rickshaw was my lifeline.
Juhu beach or Bandra Bandstand?
Neither because I’m not a beach person, I love the mountains.
Gateway of India or Marine Drive?
Marine Drive because after a hectic day, sitting at Marine Drive with family or friends and some music is soothing.
Local train or BEST bus?
I haven’t experienced either but people says trains are the lifeline of Mumbai so I would like to experience that once.
Tapri ki chai or Sol Kadhi?
Neither because I’m a coffee person.
Watching a play at Prithvi theatre or watching a movie at Gaiety Galaxy?
Prithvi theatre because I’m not a trained actor I learnt everything on the job. Plays have always attracted me because I get to learn a lot. Going to Prithvi and watching a play with good snacks is exhilarating.
Favourite restaurant in the city?
There are many but the one I love and used to visit a lot initially when I arrived in the city, is Urban Tadka. I used to order food from there atleast twice or thrice a week. I have fond memories and I love Indian food.
Favourite place in Mumbai?
It has to be my home. I was a 21-22 year old girl from Kolkata and Mumbai became my home, the city welcomed me. I’ve always said work for me is not one facet of my life it’s my identity. Building my house was not just a proud moment but it also reinstalled faith in myself and my talent.
The Mumbai lingo you use the most?
There’s a certain way of calling the rickshaw bhaiyas or taxi people. There’s a sound that people make and that caught my attention early on and stayed with me.
What do you love most about the city?
Like I said, a girl who was 21-22 comes from an outside city and Mumbai has that heart to welcome everyone with open arms. It’s the city of dreams, for an actor this is the place to be. Mumbai is my karmabhoomi, from my first house to my vehicle, my identity and adulthood has been in Mumbai. The city absorbs people like a sponge which is also the cause of increasing population but the spirit of Mumbai never let me feel unsafe despite late pack ups from shoot.
