In a fun and quick tete-a-tete, mid-day.com takes you on a tour of actress Rochelle Rao's wardrobe, as she spills the beans on her fashion favourites

The most dramatic outfit I have worn
The most dramatic outfit I have ever worn would be my National costume outfit for my International pageant where I wore a Ritu Kumar lehenga. I also adorned a headdress of peacock feathers. I had to open the peacock feathers on stage. I had a lot of fun playing and being theatrical with it.

The outfit I'm most comfortable in
Jeans, T-shirt and sneakers. If it was left to me I would wear that everyday, morning, noon and night. Other than that a T-shirt dress with sneakers.

My favourite Indian outfit
The sari. I’ve worn a lot of great saris. I’ve worn them a lot on The Kapil Sharma show as well. There was one I wore during Bigg Boss, in either green or blue and people still remember it. There was also a pink Neeta Lulla sari  that I wore on the Kapil Sharma show that I liked.

My favourite western outfit
Any of the gowns I’ve worn! The gown for my international pageant, even my wedding gown. I’ve had the joy of wearing some stunning gowns in life. When I’m in a gown with heels, I feel I look my best. It’s usually the mermaid shape that I go for. I also like co-ords, co-ord shirt with shorts, trousers with crop top, co-ord jacket. Mostly I do high waisted co-ords whether it’s a trouser or shorts. I could wear high waisted stuff everyday and be very happy.

The trendiest outfit I own
A pair of high waist shiny leather pants. I have matching leather boots with high heels. That combination is one of the trendier ones I’ve worn recently.

What you will find me wearing at home
Denim shorts and a T-shirt or any other kind of shorts. I like to wear a lot of loose vest tops that I picked up during my travels in Thailand and other Asian countries.

My favourite holiday outfits
A lot of shorts! Since you can’t really roam around too much in butt shorts in India, whenever I’m out I wear them, or in Goa on the beach. I wear flared dresses that are cute and pictures well. Or I’d be in a swimsuit on the beach.

The fashion trends I don't like
Big, bulky sneakers that don’t have any shape. I have small feet and I feel it makes my feet look strange. I also don’t take things that are too fussy like taking one shoulder off and tying things under your arm, buttoning them differently. I find those trends annoying because you can’t be comfortable and natural when styled like that!

My go-to accessories
Earrings, I don’t leave the house without them. I have everything from diamond earrings to Rs 100 earrings that you find on the street. I picked up a whole bunch of Christmas themed earrings from Forever 21 recently. My favourite earring is a pair that Keith got me, it is a diamond stud but also has a ring of smaller stones around it. So I can either keep the ring or remove it, so it can go from a stud to a more decked up piece with an evening gown.

One celeb whose wardrobe I would like to steal from
Alia Bhatt’s wardrobe, she keeps a good balance between trendy and real, normal. Like I said I don’t like things that are too fussy, Alia always looks comfortable and keeps up with trends without trying to be a fashionista.

One crazy fashion trend I might try
I’ve tried a lot of trends like print on print.
