Never in his 16-year career did Pratik Gandhi think that he would one day be cooking on National television. So, he ensured he was prepped enough when he joined Chef Ranveer Brar for the show, You Got Chef’d. “Being a Gujarati, I have an undeniable relationship with food. But, I have never cooked anything in my life,” says the actor, who climbed the popularity chart with the series, Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story.

Like everyone, Gandhi had also taken to cooking during the lockdown, albeit not so successfully. “I have tried and failed multiple times, even before I went on the show. I have learned to cook at least the basics [now]. [Before this] I have only cooked under strict supervision of my mom and wife. Ranveer made me feel comfortable,” says Gandhi, adding that to play the role of a chef for one of his Gujarati films, he had learned how to chop vegetables. “The biggest learning for me [from this show] was not to be afraid of experimenting with something new.”

You Got Chef’d showcases celebrities exploring their kitchen skills while discussing their travel tales and cooking fails with Brar.
