Comedian-musician Munawar Faruqui lifted the Bigg Boss 17 trophy on Sunday. He was among the top 5 finalists alongside Abhishek Kumar, Ankita Lokhande, Mannara Chopra, and Arun Mashettty. Munawar, who started with a fan following of 6.1 million on Instagram and currently has 11.3 million, took home the trophy along with a whopping amount of over Rs 50 lakh and a Hyundai Creta car. On Monday, he arrived at his residence in Dongri, Mumbai after 100 days to a warm and thunderous welcome by the people.

On Tuesday, Munawar took to his Instagram stories to share a picture of his son posing with the trophy. Upon his return, the comedian also celebrated his victory with his family including his son Mikhail who has been rooting for him from the start.
The grand welcome for Dongri Ka Chokra:
On Monday evening, a massive crowd gathered on the streets of Mumbai's Dongri area where Munawar resides for his grand welcome. Several banners and posters were put across the area congratulating Munawar for winning the reality show. Lovingly called 'Dongri Ka Chokra', Munawar paraded on the streets of his area flaunting his trophy. People crowded on the footpaths while some got over rooftops of shops to catch a glimpse of Munawar.

The comedian expressed his gratitude towards the Bollywood superstar for his guidance throughout the latest season. He thanked his fans for their support.

Munawar, who had a bumpy ride during the show, defeated actor Abhishek Kumar to win the finale. Munawar celebrated his birthday with the finale of the show and took home a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh.
While the comedian aimed to make the audience smile with his one-liners and shayaris, his time on the show often saw him getting emotional and teary-eyed. Munawar’s journey on the show also involved controversies, including accusations of two-timing with Nazila Sitaishi and previous marriage proposals before entering the ‘Bigg Boss’ house.
With this, the comedian is now proud winner of two reality shows in the same format, the Kangana Ranaut-hosted streaming reality show ‘Lock Upp’ and the Salman Khan hosted ‘Bigg Boss 17’.
