As an entrepreneur and investor, Shark Tank India’s mentor Anupam Mittal would perhaps lead a rather stressful life. His means to tackle stress, though, is rather simple. “Boxing is my stress reliever,” says Mittal, who often advocates an active lifestyle. “Boxing is an easy way to relieve stress, and burn a lot of calories. You find yourself in a calmer space, mentally, and also get an energy boost,” says the investor, who also practices cross-functional workouts and other formats to avail the benefits of a balanced routine.

The advantages of boxing, he says, are umpteen. “Because it is a full-body regimen, every muscle is worked on. It helps you develop better hand, eye and body coordination. Since it is rigorous, and involves a lot of lateral movements, it keeps your senses active. Because your attention is on the entire body, and not on a single muscle group, it helps build focus, and is hence, exciting.”

Mittal is no stranger to long working hours. Yet, practising a form of athletic training, he says, is rather imperative. “One gets an adrenaline [rush].  For entrepreneurs like me, a typical day involves a lot of meetings and number [crunching], so, this regime helps tackle fatigue that can arise due to long work days. Healthy living habits are an integral part of the lifestyle of my family. My parents too practice yoga, and Anchal [wife], who is a model by profession, joins me in kick-boxing.” Mittal’s daughter Alyssa may only be five, but she stays active by playing football. “So, as a family, we are inclined towards healthy habits, but we have our cheat days as well.”
