Gurdeep Kohli in a candid chat talks about playing a negative character in 'Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye'

Sony Entertainment Television’s popular show 'Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye' has managed to garner enormous popularity and with time, has become an audiences favourite. Adding another feather to the cap and all set to spice up things between Amrit (Gracy Goswami) and Randheer (Zaan Khan) is actor Gurdeep Kohli.

Portraying a negative character, Gurdeep will enter the show as Kaveri Pratab Singh. She will play an antagonist in Amrit and Randheer’s life after Veer's (Kunal Jaisingh) death. The storyline will focus on how Kaveri’s greed makes her want to get a hold on Rani Nalini’s throne. It would be interesting for the viewers to watch how her entry would generate the much-anticipated drama in the show.
Talking about her entry Gurdeep Kohli aka Kaveri Pratab Singh said, "I am very excited to play the role of Kaveri. This is going to be unique as well as challenging because of the grey shade my character will bring out. She is not only negative in nature but greedy as well, and it will be very interesting for the viewers to see the storm she brings about in the lives of Amrit, Randheer and Nalini. As much as I am enjoying shooting, I hope the viewers to accept my portrayal of Kaveri as well.” It is surely going to be intriguing to see how Kaveri creates a mark in the family.
'Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye' is set in 1947, Lahore, pre-partition India. The show narrates the story of three young girls - Amrit, Vashma and Radha. This story brings forth their dreams, hope, aspirations and newfound love... all this at the brink of Independence. Knowing that tomorrow will be different, the three girls will set out to conquer love and will stand the test of time across borders.
