New bride Shireen aka Simi from Yeh Hai Mohabbatein recently tied the knot with Hasan Sartaj

Shireen Mirza known for her role as Simi from Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, married Hasan Sartaj at her hometown, Jaipur last week. Her co-stars including Divyanka Tripathi, Aly Goni, Krishna Mukherjee and others were present on her big day. The newlywed speaks to mid-day.com about the wedding and honeymoon plans.

Tell us all about the wedding and how you planned it?
It’s been a crazy week but thankfully government guidelines have been eased down, so it was a bit easier to manage the preparations. Rajasthan is famous for destination weddings and I belong to the state, so we thought it's best to explore the place. I chose a venue surrounded by the Aravali hills, Kundan Van in my hometown Jaipur. We managed to get the best Rajasthani and Mughlai food, so the Delhi people who attended could get a taste of the local cuisine. A lot of my friends flew down from Mumbai and they too had a great experience. The entire cast of YHM was there. We didn’t have internet access in Rajasthan on my wedding day, but Aly was with me throughout. Divyanka and the other girls did their bridesmaid duty perfectly.
How did you meet Hasan?
I met him at the airport before the lockdown and was looking to borrow a charger since my phone battery had drained out. It was just a conversation that lasted few seconds. Later he found me on Instagram and messaged me to which my management replied. Destiny played its role here and we met again on a matrimony app where we started talking, because we couldn’t meet in person due to Covid. I got Covid, so I was going through a tough time and he was by my side that’s when I knew this bond will last forever.
Are you leaving for the honeymoon immediately?
We are planning to leave for our honeymoon in January during the New Year's and Switzerland is what we are looking at.
Has Hasan watched your show?
He has not watched my show but his family has. So he had no assumptions about me. If he knew Simi, he would have got scared of me.
