In an exclusive interview with mid-day digital, Arjun Bijlani spoke at length about his victory in the 11th season of Khatron Ke Khiladi, how he found the finale stunt as an action scene straight out of a Hindi film climax, and what made Divyanka Tripathi a strong competitor on the show.
Ask him about being confident of lifting the trophy, he says, “Well, I was nervous for sure. When I reached the finale, I realised the prospects of the trophy were much higher. But I had two strong contenders with me, Divyanka and Vishal. I definitely wanted to win the trophy and I’m happy I won it.”
When asked about the qualities that made him stand apart from the other contenders, he quips, “I think I was always very positive, I always had that attitude that one should enjoy his work and not stress too much about it, things just become easier when you do that. I never did any stunt thinking I want to be better than somebody else. I always wanted to give my best shot. When you are doing a stunt, you have to do it with the best of your capabilities rather than thinking what the other person is going to do.”

He also has something to say about Divyanka Tripathi and what makes her a strong contender and a runner-up. “I think she was very good throughout the show, she was excellent. On any other day maybe, it was such a long stunt - the finale one, that you never know. It was just that I won it that day, she was so good throughout the day. It could’ve been her day, but I think it was my day that day. Everyone wanted to give their best and she also did very well in the finale stunt. I was a little faster and that’s why I won it, but she did extremely well in that stunt as well. It’s just that she got stuck in the neck for some more time otherwise she could’ve won it. It was a very close between us. The show is based on what happens in a particular stunt on that particular day, so I think I fared pretty well on that day,” says Bijlani.
The actor also hosted a house party for all the contestants. This seems to be that one season where everyone seems to have got along. He says, “Everyone did get along, we all used to come together and chill in my room. We went during the time when the pandemic was at its peak, so we all were missing our families. I’m the kind of person who likes to have people together and make sure everyone does get along and have a good time. Life is too short, we’ve seen so much has happened in the last two years, there’s no point in holding grudges. Competitive spirit is great but that’s only when you’re working. Otherwise, you have to be nice to each other and you got to be having fun. That’s what I look forward to.”
He also spills the beans on the stunt he enjoyed performing the most. “The finale stunt, I think it was the ultimate stunt. Once people see it, they know it. It was a very long stunt, a very dynamic stunt, it was like the climax of a movie. And I’m glad I not only completed it, but won it also,” Arjun beams.
