I don't like playing a long term negative character as to be in contact with a negative character in a daily soap is something I don't wish to do, Nausheen, who features in shows like 'Beend Banoongaa Ghodi Chadhunga' and 'Gangaa', told IANS in an email interaction.

She added: It's okay to play such roles in cameos or films where it gets over quickly ... and the thirst to be versatile as an actor is also quenched.

Kkusum, with a story of a simple girl overcoming all hurdles finding love, first appeared on the small screen in 2001.

And Nausheen has kind of lived under the shadow of the show as a 'tragedy queen' for long. But the actress is not bothered by the tag.

It is better to have a title than not have one. No, I'm happy with my image and I'm comfortable in my zone, she said, adding that she would like to explore comedy genre.

Tragedy and comedy are my forte ... I have not got a chance to do comedy which I wish to in the future," she said.
