"I am quite happy to be back on TV. I felt like coming home again. This is like my second innings. I was missing being in front of the camera, I felt like a newcomer. I was missing acting...playing a character," Sangeeta told PTI. When asked why she chose to stay away from the small screen, she said, "I was busy doing shows that I did not have time for my family.
That was the time I realised I should devote some time to my family." However, Sangeeta doesn't regret it. Rather, she is happy to have spent quality time with her family. During her sabbatical from TV, she got married to polo player Shailendra Singh Rathore. Sangeeta is open to TV now and does not shy away from taking up second lead or supporting roles.
"I am open to good roles. I know I am not going to get lead roles always. I am ready to play second lead or supporting roles provided they are interesting and different," she said. In her new TV show, she plays an older woman falling in love with a younger man, played by Ruslaan Mumtaz, who acted in 'Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar' (2007) film. Sangeeta said she was nervous to face the camera again.
"I was worried and nervous as to how will I do the scene...will I be able to do or not," she added. She is also open to participating in reality shows but not in 'Bigg Boss', as she feels she is unfit for it. Post her marriage she keeps shuttling between Mumbai and Jaipur, where her husband lives. "Luckily, my in-laws understand that after marriage you don't lose your connection with your parents.
My husband and mother-in-law are thrilled about my decision to return on TV," she added. The show will go on air on from August 15 on Sony Entertainment channel.u00a0
