Ekta Kapoor has apparently started work on her next big television project: an adaptation of Jane Austen's famous novel, Sense and Sensibility.

The novel has seen many celluloid adaptations, including an English film that won the Academy Award. It was then made into a TV series and that too was well received.

All of which has probably prompted Ekta to turn to it for her next television venture.

“Casting for the show, the story of which is centred around a widow and her three unmarried daughters, has already begun,” says the source.

Sources say that the show will be telecast on weekdays at 9pm on Zee TV. Currently, this prime-time slot is occupied by Ekta’s show Pavitra Rishtra. “Once the new show is ready to go on air, Pavitra Rishta will be pushed to another time slot,” adds the source.

It is also being said that Sriti Jha, who shot to fame with her role in Balika Vadhu, has been chosen to play the lead role.

When asked about it, Ekta sent us a smiley as a reply.
