Actress Jiya Shankar who played Nisha in the recently released Marathi film 'Ved' co-starring Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh, dropped by the mid-day.com office to celebrate the success of the film. Watch her open up about her journey in showbiz and play a fun segment.

Speaking about her journey, Jiya said, "It took me 10 years to be where I am today so it wasn't an easy journey. I started acting because my mom asked me to give it a shot, then it grew on me. I was a super shy kid so it took me years to accept that I am an actor."
The actress is glad that even the non-Marathi speaking audience has been watching her film. "People have been telling me that thought they can't speak Marathi, they watched 'Ved' with subtitles and loved me. That means the world to me."
Sharing her future plans, Jiya added, "An actor never chooses where he wants to perform, everything is a stage, be it Hindi, Marathi Telugu or Tamil. I believe that every opportunity is big. I want to do Hollywood as well."

Speaking about how she has been celebrating the sucess of her debut Marathi film, Jiya said, "I visited multiple theatres in different locations. The last show in Pune was housefull. I met everubody and wished them a Happy New Year."
