Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who was arrested in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case, admitted to giving Rs 30 lakh to another suspect, Pradosh, to get rid of the body and keep his name out of the incident, according to the police. They also said they found the money at Pradosh's house.

"Darshan, who is accused number 2 (A2) in the case, has in his voluntary statement to police said that he had given Rs 30 lakh to Pradosh (A14) to dispose of the body, and for the expenditure that would cost...for persons to carry out this task, and to ensure that his name doesn't come out anywhere," a police official said.


Seventeen people, including Darshan and his friend Pavithra Gowda, are accused in the murder case.

Darshan performed puja after the murder

Actor Darshan who is under investigation for his suspected involvement in the Renukaswamy murder case. A recent development reveals that Darshan's shoes were found at his wife Vijayalakshmi's apartment, where he allegedly conducted a puja. Police claim Darshan visited his wife's place after allegedly disposing of Renuka Swamy's body on June 9th.

According to a senior police officer cited in a Times of India report, Darshan disposed of the victim's body in the early hours of June 9th. Afterwards, he went to his wife's place in Hoskerehalli where he performed a puja with her. Following this, he travelled to Mysuru and was arrested on June 11th.

According to police sources cited in the report, Vijayalakshmi was called to Annapoorneshwari Nagar on Wednesday and questioned extensively for about five hours. She was asked about how Darshan's loafers ended up at her place and if anyone else had used them. The report indicated that Vijayalakshmi provided her statement and is expected to be considered a witness in the case.

The report also noted that Darshan's costume assistant, known as Raju from Attiguppe, had handed over Darshan's clothes and shoes to Vijayalakshmi after the incident.

Another update on the Renukaswamy murder case: 

Just recently, Darshan's wife, Vijayalakshmi Darshan, has finally spoken up about the murder accusations against her husband. She has requested a court order to stop the media from sharing unverified information about the ongoing case.
