Malayalam film superstar Mohanlal turns a year older today. The actor has an interesting mix of films in his kitty. Among them, 'L2: Empuraan' is one of the most anticipated films. The film is a sequel to the 2019 hit film 'Lucifer' directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran. Today, on Mohanlal's birthday, the actor shared a new poster from the upcoming film featuring him as Khureshi Abraam.

The first part of the franchise received massive responses from the fans and saw Mohanlal as the charismatic and enigmatic Stephen Nedumpally, a role that resonated deeply with fans. The sequel will see him as Khureshi Abraam. In the new poster, Mohanlal can be seen exuding swag in an all-black outfit and sporting a thick moustache and long salt-and-pepper beard. He is surrounded by armed men in the poster.

'L2E: Empuraan' will be released in Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The official release date of the film is still awaited. The film will be produced under the banner of Lyca Productions. ‘L2: Empuraan’ started filming in October 2023 and has been shot at various foreign locations, promising a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience.

Actor Mohanlal has his hands full with interesting projects in the pipeline. Apart from his acting assignments, he also has his directorial 'Barroz' in the making. Mohanlal plays the lead in the film, which is to be shot in 3D and which will feature Spanish actors Paz Vega and Rafael Amargo in important roles.Written by Jijo Punnoose, who is known for having directed India's first 3D film, 'My Dear Kuttichathan', 'Barroz' will have ace cinematographer Santosh Sivan cranking the camera.
He also has 'Ram' with Drishyam director Jeethu Joseph in the pipeline. He also recently started shooting for his next with Shobana. The yet untitled film marks his 56th film with Shobana. He also has pan-India film Vrushabha in the pipeline that will mark Shanaya Kapoor's debut.
