Seasoned actors often have a particular way of negotiating uncomfortable questions during an interview. While Shah Rukh Khan nabs the trickiest of subjects with his charm, other celebrities choose to laugh off such situations, or simply refuse to comment.
But South actor Dhanush was in no mood to entertain his interviewer when faced with a similar question on Monday. When the subject of Suchi leaks was broached, Dhanush simply chose to walk off.
"It was silly of me," says the actor-producer, adding, "I am generally a calm person, but, I did react in a way that I shouldn't have. My intention was clear, I didn't want to answer the question. But the strong reaction was unwarranted. Actually, I haven't slept for two weeks, since I was busy with my upcoming film," he says, quick to point out that media persons should also respect an individual's privacy. "Looking back, I am also surprised at the way I reacted. I should have simply asked the journalist to move on to the next question."
Dhanush, who is currently in the midst of promoting his upcoming film VIP-2, was caught off-guard after a television interviewer asked him about his involvement in the controversy, and whether there was turmoil within the family. Angry, the actor decided to leave the set, and was even heard calling the interview "stupid".
It appears that the actor has been perturbed with the developments surrounding the film, which has run into tussles with the Censor Board. VIP-2 was to release on July 28, but has been indefinitely pushed. But the actor refutes rumours of any concern, stating, "We have made the film in three languages [Tamil, Telugu and Hindi] and wanted to release it simultaneously. Procuring a common date is a hassle."
The Suchi leaks
Dhanush had come under the spotlight after intimate photographs, allegedly of him, and other Kollywood stars, began surfacing online from South Indian singer and former RJ Suchitra's Twitter account in March. She also alleged the actor's team manhandled her in Coi- mbatore.
