Popular Kannada actress Sanjjanaa Galrani, whose nude video from film 'Dandupalya 2' leaked online, claims the clip has been morphed.

Sanjjanaa took to Twitter to release a statement. She wrote, "I will not shoot 100 percent nude even if it is a James Bond film, coming in from strong Indian culture I keep in mind my limitations."

'Dandupalya 2' team has denied the video leak being a publicity stunt

The clip is a scene from the film that shows the heroine being stripped by a police officer played by actor P Ravishankar.

The controversial sequence, however, has been deleted from the final cut of the movie after Regional Censor Board objected to it. The movie released last Friday in some parts of India.

Questions were raised if this was yet another publicity stunt. But 'Dandupalya 2' team has denied it being a promotional gimmick. Sanjjanaa has said that the film is already doing well at the box office and doesn't need a promotional stunt.

The team is clueless as to how the deleted scene made its way online.

While speaking to Times of India, Sanjjanaa said, "Yes. I shot for it, but I was not nude. I have pictures that show my body parts covered up with a towel that were clicked in my caravan. What is eventually seen in the film is the result of computer colour grading, which was made to show the scene in that fashion."

"My character, Chandri, is a victim of sexual abuse in this scene, so this was meant to showcase that. I am appalled at how the scene has been circulated by people and has been shown repeatedly on media platforms. It shocks me that people want to share content like this among themselves," she told the newspaper.

"I thought it would be shot aesthetically, but the way it has been picturised is downright vulgar. The fault is in the making. It might have been shot like that keeping the mass audience in mind," added Sanjjanaa.

Before being dragged into this controversy, the actress made headlines for the wrong reasons. Sanjjanaa was at loggerheads with the makers of the film for apparently cutting down her role in the movie and giving more importance to Pooja Gandhi. She ended up boycotting the movie promotions.

The film also stars Makarand Deshpande and Ravi Kale.

The Kannada film is a sequel to 2012 movie 'Dandupalya' and revolves around a criminal gang from Dandupalya, a place near Hoskote in Bengaluru. The gang had forced the makers to change the title of the film to '2' from 'Dandupalya 2'.

'Dandupalya 3' is set for August release.
