Two years after his animated Punjabi film Chaar Sahibzaade proved to be a money-spinner at the box office, Harry Baweja is ready to work on its sequel. While the first part was based on the sacrifices of Guru Gobind Singh’s four sons, the next instalment will focus on legendary Sikh warrior, Banda Singh Bahadur.

Stating that the new project has been titled Chaar Sahibzaade – Rise of Banda Bahadur, a source says, “Photo-realistic animation will be employed to tell the true story of honour and sacrifice. Like the earlier film, this film will also be released in Hindi.”

Bahadur established his authority in Punjab and won great renown as an abolisher of the zamindari system and one who gave tillers proprietary rights. In 1716, the Mughals captured him after a grim battle in Gurdaspur, brought him to Delhi where he was tortured to death.

Harry confirms the development, saying, “We were humbled by the reactions to Chaar Sahibzaade where we attempted the unexpected, and received an overwhelming response. This appreciation makes us look forward to do more with a true story-based sequel, pushing animation to the next level and working with the best in business.”
