1. Oviya's actual name is Helen Nelson.

2. Oviya made her big screen debut with the 2007 Malayalam film 'Kangaroo', which starred actor Prithviraj Sukuraman, who has acted in the Bollywood films, 'Aurangzeb' and 'Aiyaa.'

3. Oviya's Tamil debut 'Kalavani' (2010), which saw her star opposite Vimal was a sleeper hit at the box-office. The film gained positive reviews from audiences and critics alike and led to her bagging nearly half-a-dozen films following that.

4. Oviya has a guest appearance in 'Bigg Boss Tamil' host Kamal Haasan's 2010 film 'Manmadhan Ambu.'
