BTS's Kim Namjoon

BTS leader Kim Namjoon aka RM was captured by the paparazzi as he returned to Incheon International Airport after a photoshoot for luxury label Bottega Veneta for GQ Japan. While fans were elated to welcome Namjoon back to South Korea, they were also quick to notice RM's buzz cut at the Seoul airport.

Namjoon's hair has been growing progressively shorter over the past couple of months. The leader often posts photos from his travels around Korea and the world- and these photos give insights into what the idol has been up to lately. In one of his recent photo dumps, Namjoon posted a picture of his shortened hairstyle, with the caption 'Expect the unexpected.' Since then, equal amounts of speculation and frenzy have been making their rounds in the ARMY circuit, wondering whether Namjoon is giving hints to his impending military enlistment.

When RM departed from Seoul a few days ago, his hair had been trimmed further - and today's photos clearly capture a military style buzzcut! While the leader has previously assured fans that his hairstyle has nothing to do with the military, ARMY cannot help but grow anxious whether they will soon have to bid goodbye to their beloved leader as well. Twitter and Instagram discourse has erupted with discussion amongst ARMYs, despite no official statement from BigHit Music.

And some wishful thinking too -

Jungkook, BTS's Golden Maknae, who recently released his debut solo digital single, 'Seven' has often talked about Namjoon being his musical and artistic inspiration. In fact, RM was the reason that Jungkook decided to join BigHit music, the label that manages the group. Joon, on the other hand has also supported Jungkook's musical journey throughout, helping him with his songwriting and composition. In a recent livestream, RM did not miss the chance to promote 'Seven' on his life and treated ARMYs by singing a small segment - of the explicit version! How and when did BTS grow up so quickly?

Suga is performing three additional shows as encore performances for his 'D-Day' concert - and ARMYs are anticipating that after Jungkook, RM could be the next guest performer!

RM released his solo album 'Indigo' last October. Featuring impressive and niche collaborations with artists such as Anderson Paak and Erykah Badu, 'Indigo' gently meanders through different shades of RM's life as a twenty-something year old. The album includes sounds reminiscent of jazz and blues, and is the perfect rainy day listen. Namjoon also discusses themes such as loneliness, grief, and the dual-edged nature of the stage and being in the limelight - above all, the album celebrates what it means to be a human being and also includes commentary on the politics of art, culture and heritage.
