Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara was arrested on Saturday at the ongoing Venice Film Festival. According to reports, the actor had an active international warrant out on him for an alleged sexual assault in France. The actor is known for Prime Video series 'My Fault (Culpa Mia).

Guevara had travelled to Venice Film Festival to participate in the Il Filming Italy Best Movie Award, a peripheral non-official event taking place in Hotel Excelsior on Sunday. He was due to receive the event’s il Filming Italy Best Movie International Award Young Generation for his performance in My Fault.

After his arrest, official handle of the festival took to X and wrote, "#LaBiennaleDiVenezia would like to specify that the presence in #Venice of Spanish actor #GabrielGuevara, that some press websites have recently reported as being under arrest, was not linked to any activity or production of the 80th Venice International Film Festival."

The organizers of the il Filming Italy Best Movie Award initiative told local news agency Ansa, that they had “suspended any recognition as a precaution, waiting for the nature of the facts concerning him [Guevara] to be ascertained and with complete confidence that justice will take its course.”
