Adan Canto, the Mexican-American actor who traded in his music career in Mexico for Hollywood fame, died on January 8 after a private battle with appenficeal cancer. The actor was 42 years old at the time of his passing.


Designated Survivor' actor Adan Canto dies



On January 10, news broke that Designated Survivor actor Adan Canto died at age 42. Adan Canto was most recently part of Fox's drama series 'The Cleaning Lady', where he played the male lead for the first two seasons. However, his health prevented him from being part of the upcoming season 3, which rolled in December. The series is said to pay tribute to its lead character with a card during the premiere.

About Adan Canto

Adan Canto was born in 1981 in Ciudad Acuna, Coahuila, Mexico. Adan left his home at age 16 to pursue his dream of becoming a singer and guitarist in Mexico City. Soon after, Adan started acting in commercials and TV shows before he was discovered. The actor bagged the role in Kevin Williamson's 2013 Fox drama series 'The Following'.

Adan only soared upward from there. The actor went on to star in series like 'Designanted Survivor' where he portrayed Vice President Aaron Shore for three seasons. He also starred in Narcos as a real-life politician, Rodrigo Lara Bonilla. Adan also had an arc on Second Chance.
