London: Paramount Pictures had to delete the poster from twitter and Facebook recently as it was hugely criticized because the advertisement was aimed at the September 11 Australian release of the latest 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' film.

Paramount Australia said in a statement that combining the image and date was a mistake and they were deeply sorry to have used that artwork for the marketing materials promoting the September 11 opening in Australia, the Hollywood Reporter reported.

The statement further read that they intended no offense and has taken immediate action to discontinue its use. The poster featured the characters jumping toward the viewer from an exploding building emblazoned with the movie's Australian release date: Sept. 11.

And it received quick and negative reactions for its evocation of the World Trade Center attacks in 2001.
