The 72nd Golden Globe Awards witnessed entertaining moments of triumph, surprises, drama and humour. Here is a lowdown on the most memorable ones
Golden Globes 2015
The award season of Hollywood is officially in full swing with the Golden Globes setting the ball rolling on Sunday evening. The entertainment quotient at this event was so high that we can only hope that the other awards functions manage to match the spirit. The evening kickstarted with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler — who are co-hosting for the third and final time — delivering a riveting monologue that not only made fun of the recent scandals but also kept the celebrity audience in splits. Later, the function moved to the category-wise award section but the humorous banter continued.

Cracking up
With Amy Poehler and Tina Fey as the emcees, jokes are bound to take centre stage — quite literally. And that's precisely what happened. However, they weren't the only ones who whipped laugh-worthy liners. Listing out a few outrageously funny quotes from the show...

– Tina Fey
>> After Fey mentioned how Steve Carell's 'Foxcatcher' took him two hours to get ready to film every day, she added, "It took me three hours today to prepare for my role as a human woman."
Jeremy Renner's joke on Jennifer Lopez's bust wasn't appreciated by the latter
>> "In 'Into the Woods' (the movie starring Meryl Streep), Cinderella runs from her prince, Rapunzel is thrown from her tower for her prince and Sleeping Beauty just thought that she was getting coffee with Bill Cosby."

>> "Jennifer Aniston is here for her role in the movie 'Cake,' Poehler said, before adding, "'Cake' is like a fluffy dessert that people eat on their birthdays, and birthdays are things that people celebrate when they admit that they've aged."
>> "I'm not going to start picking on things you've done," ex-host Ricky Gervais told his fellow actors, before quipping, "Some of it immoral; a lot of it illegal. If we've learned one thing, it's that famous people are above the law. As it should be."
George Clooney and wife Amal Alamuddin made their red carpet debut as a married couple
>> "George Clooney married Amal Amaluddin this year.
