London: Singer Mariah Carey says that she would like to be invisible for a day so she can go to the beach without being bothered.

"If I could be invisible for a day, I would hang out on the beach and go swimming. I'd be happy because I wouldn't feel like I was being critiqued," Carey told Britain's ELLE magazine, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

Carey identifies a lot with felines and feels mostly like a tigress.

"Sometimes my spirit animal is a kitten and sometimes it's a really big angry cat that runs fast and fights. I'd say I'm mostly a tigress," she said.

The 46-year-old wanted to be a make-up artist when she was younger and though she went to a beauty school as a "fall back" option, she never had to pursue a second career because she was so focused on achieving chart success.

"When I was younger I wanted to be a make-up artist so, I went to a beauty school. It was going to be my thing to fall back on if music didn't work out. But in the end I didn't have that mentality - I put my all into making sure music happened," she said.

And when it comes to her own make-up, Carey avoids mascara as it always runs when she is performing.

"I don't wear mascara because when I sing it drips down my face and that's not a pretty sight. When I'm on stage I'll wear false lashes for impact," she said.
