The legendary singer, who after a seven-year long break released new track "No Sleep" last week, was honoured with a star-studded tribute before she graced the stage in a fierce white jumpsuit.
Tinashe, who has been compared to the Grammy winner since making her debut, opened the performance before Jason Derulo broke it down to the iconic songstress' "All for You". Ciara then closed the tribute in full-on Jackson get-up by performing "Rhythm Nation".
Jackson then emerged to a standing ovation before she thanked her famous parents, Katherine and Joe Jackson, and her fans.
"It's been a very long journey to this moment. My heart is so full. Thank you, God, for making everything possible. I'm so grateful for the support you've always given me, to my beautiful mother and beautiful father, and to my entire family.
"Your love is unbreakable. Many thanks to Jimmy and Terry for our incredible history and to everyone who performed in the tribute tonight. Twenty five years ago, we created Rhythm Nation hoping the world would be a better place, but yesterday there is even more to be done.
Last but not least to my loving husband and to all the fans, I've missed you so much and I love you so much. Thank you! Thank you, BET," she concluded.
