A clip shows a brief scene where a toddler drops her sippy cup after being knocked over by a baby stroller.
One of the two women walking by picks up the cup and says, "Poor baby, let me get that for you."
Ellen DeGeneres with Portia de Rossi
The clip is extremely quick and it's quite possible the two women are just standing next to each other or could possibly be friends. However, that didn't stop people on social media from speculating the two women might also be a lesbian couple.
Coincidentally, the main character in the film, Dory is voiced by Ellen DeGeneres, who came out in 1997 and is married to actress Portia de Rossi. Some think her coming out might have played a role in rumours surrounding the women featured in the clip. The Finding Dory speculation comes after a series of social media campaigns to feature more LGBT characters in Disney movies.
