The 70-year-old grew facial hair for his role as scientist Hank Pym in the film but admitted his wife, with who he has children Dylan, 14, and 12-year-old Carys, couldn't wait for filming to be over so he would be smooth-skinned again.
"She hates it. Absolutely hates it... Baby, take a look at this beard for the last time, I'm going to shave it off," Douglas said in an interview with "Extra", reports femalefirst.co.uk.
While Zeta-Jones is unimpressed with her husband's appearance, their son is incredibly excited by the veteran actor's latest role.
He said: "My 14-year-old son Dylan thinks I've never done anything in my life before 'Ant-Man'. That's the only way I'm getting him through the ninth grade is by promising he can go to the premiere."
