Los Angeles: Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett says she has approached the makers of hit period drama 'Downton Abbey' for a cameo.

Cate Blanchett, 45, said that she is awaiting a response from the people involved in the TV drama, said The Hollywood Reporter.

"I did have words and I followed up with my agent, no call has yet been received - but I'm seeing the girls again today, so I'll get them to put a good word in," said Cate Blanchett.
