Born as Robert Allen Zimmerman, he renamed himself Bob Dylan reportedly after the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas
'Mr Tambourine Man,' one of Bob Dylan's famous numbers, was a literary character created by the musician after a drummer he knew from the clubs of New York's Greenwich Village.
