We saw the power of informed climate activism in Davis Guggenheim's 'An Inconvenient Truth' that had Vice President Al Gore journey to educate the world about the ill-effects of toying indiscriminately with our precious environment. In this follow-up by Bonni Cohen and Jon Shenk, Gore continues his tireless fight, with cameras following his actions, dutifully documenting his every action –from traveling around the world training an army of climate champions and influencing international climate policy to private moments as he persists in empowering people to make wise decisions and overcome the perils through human ingenuity and proactive perseverance. We see a much older and physically dimmed Al Gore in 2015.

He may be out of American Politics but real world issues are still his forte. Here he's shown as giving his updated presentations on the effects of capitalism on the environment. The film is set largely in board rooms and hotel rooms where Gore is shown having conversations with some of the most powerful people in the globe - about considering a cap on consumption and setting up trade measures to stop their populations from rampantly polluting the planet.

This movie, second in the series, may not create as big a sensation as the first but it ably reconstructs efforts to bring about a change in energy consumption and the powerful resonance of that thrust in real life economics. Coming a decade after 'An Inconvenient Truth' made climate change a drawing room topic for discussion, this aptly titled 'Inconvenient Sequel' is both riveting and rousing in it's appeal for environment protection and energy revolution. It's heartening to know that Al Gore hasn't given up on his pet project even though contrary views on climate change have been gaining greater ground in the interim.
