Washington D.C.: George Barris, who created the 1966 Batmobile for the 'Batman' television series, has passed away at the age of 89.

Born in Chicago in 1925, the American designer was battling with a brain tumor, TMZ.com reports.
Barris' most famous creation was Adam West and Burt Ward's trusty ride in the 'Batman' TV series of the 1960s and had also designed the 'Munsters' Koach, the truck for 'The Beverly Hillbillies' and the modified dodge charger for 'Thunder Alley'.
