The son of filmmaker David Dhawan, Varun Dhawan entered Bollywood with the multi-starrer Student of the Year in 2012 along with Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra.
Varun Dhawan then went on to experiment with his craft by doing films like Main Tera Hero, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Badlapur, ABCD 2 and Dilwale.
Before entering the silver screen, Varun Dhawan worked behind the camera as an assistant director in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer My Name Is Khan.
It takes no brains to guess that Varun Dhawan is a fitness enthusiast. The actor has been passionate about fitness from a very young age.
Varun Dhawan in an interview talking about fitness said, 'I have been passionate about fitness from a very young age. For me, fitness is a part of my everyday life.'
Varun added, 'But fitness does not mean having big muscles, it means being active, quick and flexible. It can be defined in many terms.'
Varun Dhawan hits the gym for one and a half hours every day and is trained by celebrity fitness expert Prashant Sawant.
'I do a mix and match of many exercises. But before anything I do, I go for a warm up as it of prime importance. My trainer is very helpful in keeping me fit,' said Varun Dhawan.
Varun Dhawan also does heavyweight exercise mixed with cardiovascular exercises. In 2013, Varun had come out with a fitness DVD - Pumpstart - which had a dance routine that flexes 13 major muscle groups in the body. It was choreographed by Remo D'sSouza.
Varun Dhawan keeps flooding his Instagram account with workout videos and pictures, flaunting his chiselled body.
In fact, Amitabh Bachchan, whose wry sense of humour is often on display on social media, had once joked and said on Twitter, 'Double glasses and ready for the gym. No, you will not follow me there... it is too embarrassing, follow Varun [sic].'
Varun Dhawan has even injured himself while working out at the gym. In 2018, Varun suffered a minor injury while working out in the makeshift gym on the set of Kalank.
Varun Dhawan turned 33 on April 24, 2020. Our best wishes to the actor!
