Zubeidaa is a Hindi-language film released in 2001. It was directed by Shyam Benegal and produced by Farouq Rattonsey. The film is based on the life of Zubeida Begum. Zubeidaa is played by Karisma Kapoor in the film.
The film also stars Rekha as Zubeidaa's mother, Maharani Mandira Devi (Mandy), and Manoj Bajpayee as a prince named Maharaja Vijayendra Singh (Victor) who falls in love with Zubeidaa.
The film was praised for its performances, direction, and music, but it also courted controversy for its portrayal of Zubeida Begum's life and relationships. Some members of her family objected to the film and claimed that it was inaccurate and disrespectful to her memory.
The music of Zubeidaa was composed by A.R. Rahman, and the lyrics were written by Javed Akhtar. The film's soundtrack includes the popular songs ‘Mehndi Hai Rachnewali’ by Alka Yagnik and ‘Dheeme Dheeme’ by Kavita Krishnamurthy.

After 22 years of Zubeidaa's release, G5A foundation hosted a special screening of the film Zubeidaa along with a Q&A session with Karisma Kapoor and Manoj Bajpayee.
