Yami Gautam is one of the most versatile actresses in the film industry. The 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' actress is all set to play a pivotal role in the much-anticipated film 'OMG 2'. During one of the interactions with the media, Yami opened up about her thoughts on the misuse of social media. Also, while shedding light on her character, she talked about how she is feeling as she is returning to theatres after a long wait.

While talking about how she feels about her comeback to the big screen post ‘Bala’ in 2019, The actress shared, "I am feeling very good. The last theatrical was with the mighty ‘Uri’ and the special ‘Bala’. A lot of things have changed for all of us since 2019. Some sad memories, but life goes on. I was still in touch with my audience through OTT, with some really good releases. Now to come back again in 2023 with ‘OMG 2’, which is also a much-awaited film. I feel very good, and we have made a good film."

As Yami is very excited about her film OMG 2, she shared details about her character in the movie. Yami said, "I play Kamini in the film, and I am on the other side of the argument. Kamini is bold, poised, and resilient. She is the only woman in the court arguing on this issue. I think the credit goes to the writer, Amit, who understands that both arguments have to be balanced and realistic."

Yami shared she doesn’t sign ‘projects’, rather, she looks for films. "See, I don't sign projects. I am looking for films. I will never do anything randomly or just because there is more money. Of course, it is showbiz, and we are all here for money, but that'll never be my priority. It will always be the script, the director, and the team behind it. Because I am aware that scripts are the reason that got me here in the first place, nothing else," she added.

While talking about the comparison between her character in ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ and ‘OMG 2’, the actress said, "It is not the same kind of film. That is what Amit has promised me; he has said, 'Dare anyone draw a comparison between the two characters’ and I believe him."

The actress, while talking about the audience’s viewpoint, shared, "I don't think the audience has neglected any good films. It has happened that they have overloved something that wasn't that great, but they have never done injustice to a good film."

Later, when the actress was asked if the film was trying to give sex education through God, she quipped, "You haven't watched the film. If anyone writes about things without actually knowing them, that's wrong. The film doesn't have anything of that sort. I also come from a family that follows traditions. I come from 'Dev Bhumi' Himachal; we are rooted people. I don't think I will be a part of any such film that will hurt your sentiments."

She later continued and pointed out how people pass judgement without knowing the exact situation. "In film or real life, this happens everywhere. We pass judgement without even knowing the facts because it has something sensational. It should not be done; we can still do our jobs and not do something like this. I cut myself out of the social media world before starting a film to have a clearer mind," Yami said.

Talking about the big clash between Gadar 2 and OMG 2, the actress said, "I have a picture with the hand pump. I have taken it with a cutout; I am going to post it. I am going to wish Sunny sir, and all his fans well. I feel the more the better for the audience. I wish the audience watches both films. Just now, two English films have done a very good job, and I hope the same happens."
