Sunidhi Chauhan joins hands with Daboo Malik for a new track, Firaaq, penned by Panchhi Jalonvi. Having spent over 20 years in the industry, the singer says that the track ticked all the right boxes. “I am always eager to work on good compositions. I also like to be surprised with the offer that is made to me. Since I have been part of the industry for so long, I want to be surprised with each song. If that element is missing in the offer, I try to add something that will make it different,” says the singer.

While the song offered her a chance to experiment with her approach, it was also reminiscent of a style of singing that most appealed to her. “I really love the gayaki andaaz of ghazals, and the composition of this track is ideal to bring out the nuances of that style. That is what I tried to incorporate in Firaaq. I hope people will [appreciate] the love that we have put in, together as a team.”
