Forensic director hires 100 local actors from Uttarakhand to support state’s daily-wagers

Vishal Furia: Felt great to give something back to people

The film features Massey and Apte

As the industry is limping back to normalcy and more projects are going on floors, things are finally looking up for junior artistes in the city as well as across the country. In a bid to support daily-wagers, the team of Forensic has employed 100 local artistes from Uttarakhand where the Vikrant Massey and Radhika Apte-starrer is currently being shot.

While producers Deepak Mukut and Mansi Bagla initially considered roping in junior actors from Mumbai, it was eventually decided that local actors should be hired, thus giving them an opportunity to display their skills as well as providing them a source of income.

Director Vishal Furia says, “The locale is a crucial part of our [film]. We wanted to highlight the local flavours through its residents. It felt great to give something back to the people [by] making them a part of what we’re making here. I am amazed at the talent of the local artistes.”
