Vidyut Jammwal faces backlash for promoting dangerous stunts

Actor Vidyut Jammwal is renowned as one of the finest stunt performers in the country, with his films being celebrated for their gripping action sequences. The upcoming film, 'Crakk,' promises to elevate the standards of action in Hindi cinema. Ahead of the film's release, Vidyut shared a video featuring two boys performing a stunt on Mumbai’s local train. Accompanying the video was a note in which he referred to the boys as ‘REAL DARE DEVILS.’

In the video, two individuals could be seen executing a perilous stunt, hanging through the local train's door and touching their feet to a platform while the train was at full speed. Sharing the video on his Instagram page, Vidyut wrote, “Crakk Title track releasing tomorrow…My tribute to THE REAL DARE DEVILS #ITRAIN LIKEVIDYUTJAMMWAL.”

However, the video stirred controversy, and Vidyut got trolled by netizens who accused him of promoting dangerous stunts. A netizen commented, “It’s absolutely ridiculous to promote such stunts. You are encouraging youth to do dangerous stunts Vidyut. This wasn’t expected from a humble person like you. Strength is power, but using it appropriately will make you more powerful! Jai Shree Ram”. Another user wrote, “Bhai don’t encourage this type of things … u r are professional … kids will do this looking at ur videos & what if something happens to them?”. “Don't promote this log ise influence ho kr aur krenge and ye kiski ki jaan ko danger me laa sakta hai,” another one commented.

This is not the first time Vidyut has faced social media backlash; previously, a video of him performing a dangerous stunt on a moving train also sparked controversy. In that video, Vidyut is seen deboarding a moving train and climbing atop the same train without any safety harness or cables, then running on top of the stationary train. While dropping that video Vidyut wrote a long caption. A part of the caption reads, “I dedicate my song/ film to everyone who is driven by passion, motivation, and determination to face this every single day.#YOUinspireME”
