Vidya Balan back as Monjulika?

While there is pressure to follow through Priyadarshan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Anees Bazmee is confident that the audience will connect with the sequel. Although he is introducing a fresh story in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, the filmmaker has retained two songs and Akshay Kumar’s attire—black kurta with a bandana  on the head, accessorised with rudraksha beads—from the 2007 movie. But that’s not all; sources inform that Vidya Balan will also make an appearance as Monjulika in the film. 

“Their equation goes back to 2011, when Vidya made a cameo appearance in Anees’s film Thank You. She made the character of Monjulika, ghost of a royal dancer, memorable. [It is not clear if] Vidya will be seen dancing to Aami je tomar again or appear after the climax,” informs a trade source. Confirming the development, Bazmee says that Monjulika is his “favourite character”. “If the film is Bhool Bhulaiyaa, she has to be there in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Let the rest be a surprise!”
