Trip down memory lane for Ayushmann

Ayushmann Khurrana is hoping to reawaken the roadie in him when he revisits Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh for the second schedule of Doctor G. The college campus drama sees the actor playing a medical student of gynaecology. “I have always wanted to travel the length and breadth of our country. Fortunately, my work is taking me to these distinct destinations,” says the actor, who made his television debut with the second season of Roadies in 2004 and won the reality series.

When he was participating in the reality show, Khurrana rode his bike through city while performing assigned tasks. “I remember being mesmerised by the history, heritage and architecture of Prayagraj, which sees the confluence of three rivers — Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati,” says Khurrana, adding, “I will be shooting a film for the first time in Prayagraj.” Hoping to explore the city in depth this time, the Gulabo Sitabo actor says that “it will bring back a deluge of emotions and nostalgia”.

“I will find some time to visit the places that I had shot at during Roadies just to relive my days of struggle. It will be amazing to shoot in the city that carved my fortune at the start of my career,” he says. Directed by Anubhuti Kashyap, Doctor G will see him romantically paired with Rakul Preet Singh.
