Aamir recalled how Hirani and Abhijat Joshi wrote a story about an alien who is naked anyway. The filmmaker got a front strap for Aamir to execute the desert scene, which the actor was tensed about initially but gave in and performed like the true artist he is.
Hirani got Aamir and an abdomen guard while they were filming in a desert in Rajasthan. The filmmaker also assured that the set would be clean, meaning no member of the film’s unit would be present during the scene. However, due to discomfort caused by the makeshift costume, Aamir decided to ditch it and just perform in his birthday suit.
"After a couple of attempts, I told Raju, 'Remove it, I have to give the shot properly.' So I threw it away. And I ran," said Aamir.
Aamir shared, "The reason for that was I used to get embarrassed while shooting. I used to think I would look weird on the set. We are not used to it. No one is used to it. There is a dialogue in PK, that 'a crow wears a suit.' I was thinking about how to do it. I used to get tense. How will it happen? Everyone must be watching. I used to get embarrassed. But when I came on the set, I had to work. And my shot was not good. So I said, Raju, these are unimportant things. Even if you see me naked, it's not a big deal. I need a shot. At that time, I didn't feel embarrassed at all. And later I did it, it didn't matter."
'PK', which was released in 2014 revolved around an alien who lands on Earth, trying to find his communication device. The film also courted controversies for its take on religion and blind faith.
Meanwhile, on the film front, as a producer, Aamir is coming up with 'Lahore 1947', which stars Sunny Deol in the lead role. It is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, and Ali Fazal are also part of the film.
