It has been a while since we saw Shah Rukh Khan on the celluloid. The last meeting happened all the way back in December 2018, when he came out with Zero as a vertically charged character. Come 2022, he gives his fans a hardcore masala entertainer in the form of Pathan, bankrolled by the production house he has collaborated with the most for some historic successes, Yash Raj Films.
Pathan has Deepika Padukone as Khan’s leading lady once again after Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express, and Happy New Year. It stars John Abraham. The trio unites for the first time and YRF creates another exciting coup after Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff in War.
Pathan may be eyeing a 2022 release, but work on the spy thriller is moving at a brisk pace. Shah Rukh Khan resumed work on the Siddharth Anand-directed venture earlier this week. The superstar shot for an action sequence at Film City in Goregaon, where the makers had built a set replicating an African underground arms market.
With Khan playing a RAW agent, the sequence forms a crucial part of his mission. A source reveals, “In the scene, Shah Rukh’s character goes undercover to visit the arms market, and a fight breaks out among the cartels. The set-piece was choreographed by international stunt artistes. The unit shot till the wee hours of morning.”
Salman Khan reported to the Pathan set recently to film his cameo. “The duo shot some portions at YRF Studios. Now, the stage is being set for their high-octane action sequences, which will be the film’s highlight.”
