Months after threats to Salman, police extends security to actor’s family; Aayush to travel in bulletproof car for film’s promotions

Security beefed up for Bhai’s bhai-in-law

Salman Khan and Aayush Sharma

Since late 2022, Salman Khan has been provided Y-plus security by the Mumbai Police after he received death threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The security arrangements were reviewed last November after a fresh threat was issued to the superstar. Earlier this month, following intel from their sources, the cops stepped up their protection measures. A source says, “Following the Mumbai Police’s provision of security to Salman in light of the death threats, the police cover has now been extended to Aayush Sharma.”

This includes Khan’s brother-in-law Aayush Sharma, who is set to kick off promotions for his upcoming film, Ruslaan. It has been heard that the actor will be accompanied by police personnel for the media events that have been lined up this month. The source adds, “Since Aayush will be out and about promoting his action thriller, he has been assigned cops for his protection. The actor will also travel in Salman’s bulletproof vehicle.” One may recall that Khan had invested in a new bulletproof vehicle last year.

Following the social media threat to Khan in November 2023, efforts were underway to track the internet protocol address associated with the posts. The superstar has also been authorised to carry a personal weapon.
