Sanjay Gupta, who recently wrapped up his next production Visfot, has no time for a breather. The filmmaker has headed to Goa for the shoot of his directorial venture, Miranda Boys. While Harshvardhan Rane and Meezaan Jaaferi were roped in for the football drama earlier this year, the director had not finalised the leading lady. Now, it is learnt that Sahher Bambbaa, recently seen in The Empire (2021), has bagged the part.

The actors started the workshops and readings in February. “Sahher came on board last month. Sanjay was impressed by the elegance and dignity she brought to her role of Maham Begum in The Empire. In Miranda Boys, she plays the common love interest to the heroes. While the leading men have trained extensively in football to do justice to their parts, the director has briefed Sahher to meet locals in Goa and pick up their diction,” reveals a source.

The cast and crew will be in the beach state for the next 45 days, with the shoot primarily taking place in north Goa. “The team will kick off the shoot with football sequences. The songs will be filmed in Goa’s clubs in the weeks to come.”
