Sagarika Ghatge bereaved as her father passes away; pens an emotional post

Sagarika Ghatge lost her father Vijay Ghatge on January 9, 2021. The actress shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, dedicated to her late father.

Sagarika Ghatge and her family are going through a bereavement, as the actress lost her father a few days ago. Her dad, Vijay Ghatge passed away on January 9, 2021, a day after Sagarika's 35th birthday (January 8, 2021). He was 64.


The actress, on Wednesday, shared a bunch of pictures, revisiting fond memories with her beloved father on Instagram and wrote a heart-wrenching note alongside, dedicated to him. "Can’t believe you are not with us anymore but I know you are in a peaceful place. I am feeling a void which will never be filled. Thank you for teaching me how to be brave and face this world. Love you a lot, Daddy. Missing you terribly ❤️ ( 23.09.1957- 09.01.2021), [sic]" wrote Sagarika in her post.

Many Bollywood celebrities offered condolences and expressed grief on Sagarika's post. "I'm so sorry for your loss," wrote Hazel Keech. Actress Vidya Malavade, who was Sagarika's co-star in Chak De! India, wrote, "Yes my love... you are strong and so very brave! Prayers and much love to you all."

"I’m so so sorry my darling. Sending prayers and strength to you and the entire family. May your daddy rest in peace," wrote Archana Vijaya. Shheethal Robin Uthappa commented, "So sorry Sagu.. loads of love coming you way❤️", while Pragya Kapoor wrote, "So sorry for your loss"

Sagarika Ghatge made her Bollywood debut with Shah Rukh Khan's 2007 film Chak De! India. She went on to star in movies such as Fox, Miley Naa Miley Hum, Rush and National Award-winning film Irada. The actress is married to former cricketer Zaheer Khan. The couple got married in a private ceremony in November 2017.
