Actor Rishi Kapoor would have turned 71 today. The movie star passed away in 2020 after battling cancer for two years. The actor is survived by his wife Neetu Kapoor and kids Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. On his 71st birth anniversary, his family and colleagues from the industry took to social media to remember him. 


Neetu Kapoor who often shares pictures with Rishi Kapoor on her Instagram feed recalling the good memories with her husband, was seen sharing posts by near and dear ones on social media. 


Riddihma Kapoor took to her Instagram stories to share pictures from her childhood with her father. "Happy Birthday papa. Miss you a little more today," she wrote. 


"Papa ki carbon copy," she wrote in another picture where she is seen posing with her father while her mother Neetu Kapoor looked at them. 

Sanjay Dutt took to social media to share a picture with Rishi Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor. "Chintu Sir was more than family, he embodied the essence of one of the finest actors and human beings. His infectious laughter, stories, and genuineness knit us together. On his birth anniversary, the void he left is palpable, but the warmth of his memory keeps him alive in our hearts. Miss you, sir," he wrote, Ranbir Kapoor had played Sanjay Dutt in the latter's biopic titled Sanju directed by Rajkumar Hirani.

Rishi died at the age of 67 on April 30, 2020, after a two-year battle with leukaemia. The actor made his debut on screen as a child in the film 'Mera Naam Joker' in the year 1970. He went on to win the National Award for Best Child Actor for his performance in the film made by his father Raj Kapoor.  He worked in many films including 'Bobby', 'Chandni', 'Henna', 'Saagar', 'Do Dooni Chaar', 'Agneepath', 'Amar Akbar Anthony', 'Kabhi Kabhie', 'Naseeb', 'Coolie' and 'Ajooba', 'Kapoor & Sons' and 'Mulk' among many others.

His last film, 'Sharmaji Namkeen' was shot with Paresh Rawal as the actor's some portion of films were incomplete. The film was released with one half Rishi Kapoor playing the protagonist and in the latter half with Paresh Rawal essaying the role.
