It’s hard to find a glimmer of hope amid the turmoil that has engulfed the country. But look a little harder, and Richa Chadha promises we’ll find stories of positivity, kindness and compassion in our everyday lives. In an attempt to celebrate the brave efforts of the common man amid the pandemic, Chadha is kicking off a dedicated page, called The Kindry, on Instagram today.

“With this page, I intend to help find relief in a pent-up nation of people,” she says of her endeavour with co-founder Krishan Jagota. The actor will host live sessions and chats with the everyday heroes who have done substantial work for the welfare of people — be it helping an elderly, or taking care of strays. The initiative will also reward them, thus incentivising good behaviour. “By amplifying stories of courage and selflessness, I believe we can create a community of empathetic people who are willing to help each other. We’re looking at crowd-funding partnerships to provide encouragement to these unsung heroes,” says Chadha. Going forward, they will also focus on creating short films, songs and podcasts that spread the message of kindness.
