India celebrates its Republic Day today (26th of January). Needless to say, that every citizen is extremely proud about it. Bollywood is no different. On the occasion of ‘Republic Day 2023’, Mid Day Online exclusively caught up with actress Isha Koppikar to know her take about this day.

Speaking to us, Isha Koppikar said, "I am ardent lover of all the National Days. And, since today is Republic Day, a day where I leave no stone unturned to show my love for the country. From wearing tricolored clothes to hoisting the flag with everyone, I make sure to participate in all the possible celebrations. While doing so, I also ensure that to not take the day lightly as a holiday. My child Rianna also loves Republic Day and eagerly looks forward to all the activities that has the patriotic fervor spreaded all over.”
I have a special connection with Republic Day. My grandfather had served as a doctor in the Indo-China war. He also used to write ‘Bhartiya’ in the religion column. We lost him when I was very young. I grew up listening to his stories. My grandfather was extremely disciplined and passionate for the country. We all feel so proud of him and also his achievements”.
On a professional front, she was last seen in ‘Love You Loktantra’ which was a political drama. The film starred Krishna Abhishek, Ali Asgar, Sapna Choudhary and Manoj Joshi in important roles. Besides this, Isha was also seen in ‘Surangaa’ series, which was based on ‘Money Heist’. Now, she will be seen in the multi-lingual film ‘Ayalaan’. The film is of science-fiction genre. The film is being made in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Hindi. Besides Isha, the film also stars Sivakarthikeyan, Rakul Preet Singh and Sharad Kelkar in pivotal roles. The film is being directed by R. Ravikumar.
