For most actors, having an Anurag Kashyap movie on their resume is a matter of pride. Saiyami Kher seems to have managed it twice over. The actor-director duo had teamed up for Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai (2020), which was set against the backdrop of the 2016 demonetisation in India and premièred on Netflix. Now, we hear the two have reunited for another direct-to-OTT film.

Sources say that this time around, they are collaborating on a human drama. It turns out the two began discussing the project when they met at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne last year. “Anurag was present in Melbourne when Saiyami’s sports drama Ghoomer [2023] premièred at the film gala, and he expressed his admiration for her work. That’s when he floated the idea of the project, and it was locked soon after,” reveals a source. The filmmaker has apparently begun pre-production and is planning to lock the locations this month. The source adds, “The table reads will start from March and the makers are planning to take the movie on floors in June. The principal photography will take place in north India.”
