Ratna Pathak and Naseeruddin Shah's love story is one for the ages. The two actors are known for their superior acting chops and progressive mindsets. Their journey to love and ultimately marriage started in the world of theatre, where their immediate connection transformed into a profound love full of depth. In a recent conversation, Ratna shared how marrying Naseeruddin Shah was just a 'fluke,'. The actress also opened up about how their marriage wasn't a conventional one, and why Shah's past never really bothered her.

In her interview with Humans of Bombay, Ratna spilled the beans on her first meeting with Naseeruddin Shah. She said, “We're doing a play together. It was precisely called ‘Sambhog Se Sannyas Tak.’ We pretty soon realised we want to be together. We were stupid, we didn’t ask too many questions. Today people ask all the right questions. We were like, ‘This sounds good, let’s just try.’ and it worked out. It was total fluke. Can’t claim any credit for it. It just worked out (sic.)”

While it was common knowledge that Shah was previously married, Ratna stated that this had no influence over her nor did it impose any kind of preconceived notion about the man she loves. She said, “I was not concerned with his past life, I was in love. He had been separated from his ex-wife for a very long time. Meanwhile, he had many other relationships. That also seemed like history. Then I arrived, as long as I am the last, I am okay (sic.)”

Ratna is in Taapsee Pannu's 'Dhak Dhak', the trailer showcases the lives of four women from different walks of life, who join forces for an extraordinary journey filled with emotions, adventures, and self-discovery as they embark on a biking expedition to Khardung La.

Starring Ratna Pathak Shah, Dia Mirza, Sanjana Sanghi, and Fatima Sana Shaikh, Dhak Dhak is produced by Viacom18 Studios in collaboration with Taapsee Pannu and Pranjal Khandhdiya's Outsider Films, in association with BLM Pictures. Directed by Tarun Dudeja and co-written by Parijat Joshi and Tarun Dudeja, the film is set to hit theaters on October 13, 2023.
